Three Capes

The Three Capes are located on the southern rim of the Tasman Peninsula in Tasmania.  Famous for their rugged beauty, they are best seen by sea kayak.  Here you can see the Candlestick and Totem Pole at Cape Huay.

The Franklin River

This a perilous 120 descent to the confluence with the Gordon River, ending at the site of the famous Franklin River blockade, which eventually saved the planned damming of the river.

                  

        Nine lives have been lost to date shooting these rapids                                                    Peaceful riverside camps are available along the descent                                   The famous view of Rock Island Bend, which saved the Franklin
