Country Experience: Germany

JSD was recently in in Germany taking part in commodity offtake contract negotiations.

This involved travel to the old mining town of Goslar, where once worked the famous Rammelsburg sulphide mine.

During the contract talks, we had lunch at an old restaurant, situated over the old mine service shaft which was used to deliver mine timber to the workings.  The Maltermeister was the timber supply foreman.  The shaft tower was referred to as a "turm".  Hence the restaurant, "Der Maltermeister Turm".
