JSD was involved in a feasibility study for a low grade gold project located north west of Da Nang, a coastal city located between Hanoi in the North and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in the south.
A feature of this assignment was the need for care when conducting field work in a former war zone... as there was unexploded ordnance in the jungle. Heavy equipment needed to be preceded by ground parties on foot...
Vietnam today remains a communist country, administered from Hanoi. Consequently, project development needs to bear this in mind as the method of doing business is more subject to government control.
